HandleHunter Terms of Service

These Terms of Service outline your rights and responsibilities when using HandleHunter to research domain and social handle availability. Please read them carefully before continuing.

Last updated: September 28, 2025

1. Acceptance of Terms

HandleHunter provides tools that help you evaluate domain and social handle availability across multiple platforms. By accessing or using our services, you confirm that you are at least 18 years old (or the age of legal majority in your jurisdiction) and that you agree to comply with these Terms of Service.

If you do not agree with any portion of these Terms, you must discontinue use of HandleHunter immediately.

2. Account & Waitlist Registration

To join the waitlist or access forthcoming collaboration features, you will be asked to provide accurate contact information. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of any access credentials and for all activities that occur under your account or sign-up email.

HandleHunter reserves the right to refuse service, close accounts, or revoke access at our discretion, including if we detect misuse, automated scraping, or activity that could compromise the integrity of our search results.

3. Permitted Use

HandleHunter is designed for brand research, product launches, and due diligence performed by individuals and teams. You may use the service to review availability, share insights with collaborators, and export materials where available.

You agree not to:

  • Interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of HandleHunter's infrastructure.
  • Use automated scripts, bots, or scrapers to query our systems without prior written consent.
  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or otherwise attempt to derive source code or underlying models.
  • Misrepresent the availability data surfaced through HandleHunter or remove proprietary notices included in exports.

4. Availability Data & Limitations

We aggregate RDAP/WHOIS records, registrar data points, and public platform checks to provide availability insights. These signals can change rapidly, and HandleHunter does not guarantee that a domain or handle will remain available after a check.

You are solely responsible for finalizing purchases with registrars or platform operators. HandleHunter is not a registrar, social network, broker, or escrow agent and does not act on your behalf in securing names.

5. Intellectual Property

All content, product copy, user interface elements, and proprietary datasets made available through HandleHunter remain the property of HandleHunter and its licensors. Except for the limited rights expressly granted to you in these Terms, no other rights are conveyed by implication or otherwise.

You may create derivative analyses using availability signals for your internal planning, provided that you do not resell HandleHunter's raw data or brand assets.

6. Privacy & Data Handling

Your use of HandleHunter is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which explains how we collect, use, and safeguard personal information. By continuing to interact with our services, you consent to the practices described therein.

We may monitor aggregate usage patterns to detect abuse, improve relevance, and maintain performance. We do not share your private search history with registrars or social platforms until you initiate a purchase or connection outside HandleHunter.

7. Beta Features & Feedback

From time to time we may offer experimental features (including AI-assisted naming suggestions) on a preview basis. These beta experiences are provided "as-is" without warranty, may be modified or discontinued without notice, and may be subject to additional terms.

By submitting feedback, ideas, or suggestions, you grant HandleHunter a perpetual, irrevocable, royalty-free license to use that input to improve the service without obligation to you.

8. Disclaimers & Limitation of Liability

HandleHunter is provided on an "as-is" and "as-available" basis. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

In no event will HandleHunter, its founders, team members, or partners be liable for lost profits, loss of use, data loss, or any indirect, special, incidental, or consequential damages arising from or relating to your use of the service.

9. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to HandleHunter at any time, with or without notice, if we believe that you have breached these Terms or engaged in conduct that could harm other users or the platform.

Upon termination, your right to use the service ceases immediately. Sections intended to survive termination (including intellectual property, disclaimers, indemnification, and limitation of liability) will remain in effect.

10. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of HandleHunter will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in San Francisco County, California, and you consent to their jurisdiction.

11. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time to reflect new product capabilities, regulatory requirements, or business practices. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date and, where appropriate, provide additional notice within the product or via email.

Continued use of HandleHunter after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
